KRAFTON India Ups the Ante with ₹3.2 Crore Prize Pool for BGIS 2025 Grand Finals

BGMI Esports

KRAFTON India is turning heads once again, this time with a massive ₹3.2 crore (~£288,000) prize pool for the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES (BGIS) 2025—a staggering 60% increase over last year’s tournament. It’s a bold move that firmly positions BGIS as the most lucrative and high-profile Esports event in India to date.

The competition now enters its final and most thrilling stage, as 16 elite teams prepare to battle it out during the three-day Grand Finale from April 25–27 at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata.

And it’s not just the finalists who benefit—KRAFTON has set aside an additional ₹1.2 crore (~$140,000/£107,000) to reward the Top 32 teams, helping to foster a stronger mid-tier competitive scene.

The 16 teams competing in the BGIS 2025 Grand Finals include a mix of veteran giants and rising stars:

Powered by the Community

What’s made this year’s expansion possible? The fans.

From March 19 to April 11, players could purchase the BGIS Special Edition 2025 Crate—an exclusive in-game collection featuring custom gun skins, cosmetics, and collectibles. Proceeds from this event were funneled directly into the tournament’s prize pool, making it a rare case where players themselves helped shape the scale of the competition.

A Milestone for Indian Esports

Karan Pathak, Associate Director of Esports at KRAFTON India, emphasized the importance of this moment:

“BGIS 2025 isn't just a tournament — it's a celebration of how far Indian Esports has come. The 60% prize pool boost, including ₹1.2 crore allocated to the Top 32 teams, is our way of giving back to the competitive community and encouraging more players to push their limits.”

With over 200 million registered users, BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA continues to be a juggernaut in Indian mobile gaming.

Expect record-breaking viewership, intense matchups, and a spotlight on India’s best Esports talent as BGIS 2025 closes in on its biggest moment yet.
