Abyss of Dungeons Expands Soft Launch to Southeast Asia and Latin America on June 11

KRAFTON has announced that its mobile dungeon-crawling RPG Abyss of Dungeons will expand its soft launch to Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil, and Mexico on June 11, 2025.

Developed by Bluehole Studio—known for TERA and PUBG—the game is a mobile adaptation of the PC hit Dark and Darker.

From “Dark and Darker Mobile” to Abyss of Dungeons

Originally revealed as Dark and Darker Mobile, the game has been rebranded to better match its dark fantasy themes, brutal combat, and extraction-style RPG gameplay. 

The new name, Abyss of Dungeons, reflects the game’s core identity—exploring deep, dangerous dungeons and fighting for survival against monsters and rival players alike.

“We believe the new title Abyss of Dungeons better conveys the game’s identity, genre-specific characteristics, and unique atmosphere,” said Joonseok Ahn, Executive Producer.

Following the February soft launch in North America, KRAFTON introduced several updates based on user feedback:

• Update 0.12.1 (May 14, 2025): Bug fixes, feature refinements, and additional content

• Ongoing balance and performance tuning via the official Discord server

Players in the U.S. and Canada have responded positively, especially to the game’s blend of cooperative and competitive elements.

Legal Context and Origins

Abyss of Dungeons is a mobile adaptation of Ironmace’s Dark and Darker, a PC-based dungeon-extraction game that rose to fame during its 2022–2023 Steam playtests.

While the PC version was entangled in a legal dispute with Nexon, the mobile version—developed independently by KRAFTON—remains unaffected and fully licensed.
