Aggro Crab has officially announced that its next title, Peak, will release Today on June 16, for PC via Steam. The game is a joint project between Aggro Crab, the studio behind Another Crab’s Treasure and Going Under, and Landfall, best known for quirky indie hits like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and Content Warning.

The upcoming title is a cooperative climbing adventure that lets players scale a massive mountain either solo or with up to three friends. The objective is simple but intense—reach the heart of the mountain to save a mysterious island.

Players will have to work together to overcome ledges, set up climbing gear, and navigate environmental challenges across four biomes—each presenting its own hazards. The gameplay seems to combine climbing mechanics with survival elements, where teamwork is more than just a nice bonus—it’s essential.

Players need to gather "questionable foods" (30 in total) that help maintain stamina. Injuries can slow players down, adding pressure to the climb and pushing the survival aspect further.

According to the game’s Steam listing, Peak also supports character customization, allowing players to dress up their climbers with various accessories and outfits, adding a playful personal touch to the experience.

Another Crab’s Treasure, released last year, was praised as one of the year’s standout indie titles, introducing players to a charming crustacean named Krill in a Soulslike underwater world. Landfall’s Content Warning, also released last year, took a more comedic-horror angle where players try to go viral by filming spooky content. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, which came out in 2021, offered chaotic, physics-based battles between wobbly armies. Peak, it seems, borrows bits of DNA from all these games—quirky tone, chaotic fun, and a co-op-friendly experience.

While it’s too early to say whether Peak will match the success of its developers’ previous hits, the premise and the team’s track record have definitely caught the attention of indie gaming fans. For those who enjoy games where falling can be as funny as it is fatal, Peak might just be worth the climb.
