ARC Raiders Anti-Cheat Restores Stolen Loot to Honest Players

ARC Raiders is cracking down on cheating, as Embark Studios introduces a system that not only penalizes cheaters but also returns stolen loot to fair players.

The newly launched extraction shooter has already drawn in over 337,000 players on Steam, but its debut hasn’t been without issues. Reports quickly surfaced of cheaters using third‑party tools like aimbots and wall hacks to ruin matches. Instead of letting this slide, Embark Studios has introduced an “Abnormal Match Compensation” anti‑cheat system that actively detects foul play and compensates victims.

Here’s how it works: if the system identifies that you were eliminated by a cheater, the gear you carried in that match is automatically returned to your inventory via in‑game mail.

What’s impressive is that this happens even if you never reported the incident yourself. Several players on Reddit have already confirmed that lost items mysteriously reappeared in their accounts, a clear sign that the system is working behind the scenes.

Of course, the cheaters don’t get off lightly. Embark has confirmed that offenders face account penalties, including permanent bans. That means losing all progress, gear, and even having to repurchase the game if they want to return.

Players can still help by reporting suspicious activity through the official site or directly in‑game.

ARC Raiders is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Windows.
