BGMI developer Krafton has announced two new additions to its Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) program.
Launched in late 2023, the KIGI program is aimed at supporting the next generation of game developers in India. The program offers a comprehensive package of support, including:
Financial backing ranging from $50,000 to $150,000
Valuable resources and mentorship
Networking opportunities within the gaming industry
The latest participants to join the KIGI initiative are Arjuna Studios and Dunali Games.
Arjuna Studios: Currently developing "Gangster Carnival," an exciting battle royale game
Dunali Games: Working on "Tale of Honour," an Android strategy-driven stealth puzzle game
These two developers join earlier-announced participants such as Shura Games and ReDimension Games.
ReDimension Games: Creators of the action-adventure game "Sojourn Past"
Shura Games: Developers of the culinary puzzle adventure mobile game "Spice Secrets"
Krafton's investment in the KIGI program is part of a larger strategy to strengthen its presence in the Indian market. The company has pledged to invest over $160 million in the Indian gaming sector over the next few years. This comprehensive plan includes:
Establishing game development units in India
Supporting local developers
Building esports infrastructure through partnerships with local government and private entities
Enhancing mobile gaming offerings beyond BGMI
According to CH Kim, Krafton's global CEO, India has emerged as one of the top five contributors to the company's growth, and India is a major focus for the company moving forward.
