Electronic Arts has yet to release official sales numbers for Battlefield 6, but early reports suggest the game may have had one of the strongest launches in the franchise’s history.
According to analyst Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics (via GI.BIZ), Battlefield 6 sold an estimated 7 million copies across all platforms within its first five days, generating more than $350 million in gross revenue.

Elliott described the launch as being “closer to Call of Duty-tier numbers than any of EA’s premium-shooter efforts so far.” That’s a bold comparison, considering Call of Duty has long dominated the FPS market. The real challenge, as Elliott pointed out, is whether EA can turn this explosive start into a sustainable platform that keeps players engaged for years to come.
The report also provided a detailed look at where players are buying the game. Steam led the way, accounting for 65.7% of total sales with around 3.5 million copies sold, which translates to more than $220 million in revenue. The PlayStation 5 followed with 1.5 million units sold (23.7% of sales), while the Xbox Series X|S contributed 1.2 million copies, making up 19.6% of the total.
On Steam, Battlefield 6 has already broken records. The game peaked at over 747,000 concurrent players, making it the most-played EA title on the platform. To put that into perspective, it even surpassed the free-to-play hit Apex Legends, which previously held EA’s record with 624,000 concurrent players. For a premium-priced game, that’s an impressive feat.
In terms of region, the primary audience for Battlefield 6 on Steam is currently in the United States, with a third of players purchasing the title. China accounts for 15% of the market share, while Japan holds 3%.
What’s Next for Battlefield 6
The launch is only the beginning. Season 1 of Battlefield 6 is set to begin on October 28, and it’s rumored to coincide with the release of the game’s much-anticipated battle royale mode.
The roadmap doesn’t stop there:
November 18 – Phase 2: Rogue Ops
December 9 – Winter Offensive
Each phase will bring new maps, modes, weapons, and other content designed to keep the community engaged.
