Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 may be heading toward its successor, Black Ops 7, but the game is not done yet. Activision has lined up a midseason refresh for Season 5, “Reloaded,” which is set to go live on Thursday, September 4.
The update is delivering new maps, game modes, weapons, and special events across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
Release Date and Timing
The patch is expected to roll out on September 4 at the usual 11 a.m. CT / 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. BST, with pre-downloads likely available a few days earlier.
Typically, Call of Duty seasons last around eight weeks, but Season 5 is stretching to nine weeks, ending on October 9. The slight extension lines up with the Black Ops 7 beta, scheduled for October 2–8.
What’s Coming in Multiplayer
New Map – Jackpot: Inspired by Black Ops 4’s Casino, this 6v6 map joins the rotation. Features a multi-level layout with destructible environments, slot machines, and high-roller areas for intense close-quarters battles
Cranked Demolition: A new limited-time mode blending traditional Demolition with Cranked mechanics. Here, chain kills extend a 30-second fuse timer (shortens by 1 second per round). Explosive death if the timer runs out. Emphasizes aggressive, non-stop action.
Ransack Returns: A mode where teams collect and deposit gold bars, first introduced in Season 1.
Blueprint Gunfight: Classic 2v2 Gunfight gameplay but with a twist — players use random weapon Blueprints instead of standard loadouts.
Zombies Additions
Zombies players aren’t left out either. The Reckoning map now features a Directed Mode, guiding players more directly with hints, round limits (max 15–20), and reduced difficulty, through its Easter egg and main quests.
On top of that, the fast-paced Team Cranked LTM is making a comeback where your entire squad shares a countdown timer that resets with each zombie kill but shortens with every round, raising the intensity as you go.
For those who complete the Reckoning Easter egg before Reloaded, an exclusive Calling Card is up for grabs.
Warzone Updates
Warzone introduces the Deadline limited-time mode, where squads battle for points between circle collapses by completing contracts, racking up kills, and looting. Respawns remain unlimited, but the lowest-scoring squads are eliminated each collapse, keeping the pace high and competition fierce.
New Weapons and Scorestreaks
The highlight on the weapons front is the Gravemark .357 Revolver, obtainable through the Operation: Hell Ride event across all modes. This eight-shot revolver comes with an Akimbo option, a moderate fire rate, and attachments like Rapid Fire and Recoil Springs for customization.
Additionally, the Combat Bow Scorestreak makes its way into both Multiplayer and Zombies, firing explosive incendiary arrows for area-of-effect damage.
Events and Extras
Two big seasonal events are on the way:
Hell Ride: An event tied to unlocking the Gravemark Revolver.
Atomic Block Party: A Nuketown-inspired event loaded with themed rewards.
As expected, new store bundles and possible crossover content will also roll out as part of the midseason update, keeping the in-game store just as lively as the battlefield.
With Black Ops 7 already in the spotlight for its November 14 release, it’s clear Activision isn’t letting Black Ops 6 fade out quietly. Season 5 Reloaded ensures players still have plenty to grind for before making the leap to the next entry.
