The pricing structure for Borderlands 4 has officially been revealed on the Xbox Store, confirming that the base version of the upcoming looter-shooter will cost $69.99. This price point aligns with the standard for many current-gen titles and puts to rest earlier speculation about a possible $80 tag—a suggestion that stirred quite a bit of backlash after Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford’s now-infamous comments about "real fans" paying premium prices.
While the base edition sticks to a more expected price, those looking for more content—or cosmetics—will have to pay significantly more. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $99.99, while the Super Deluxe Edition goes all the way up to $129.99. That’s a notable jump compared to Borderlands 3, where the equivalent editions launched at $79.99 and $99.99, respectively.
The $99.99 Deluxe Edition includes the full game, the pre-order bonus Gilded Glory Pack, several cosmetic skins, and the Bounty Pack Bundle. The bundle features four post-launch DLC packs with new areas, missions, and bosses, as well as Vault Cards that provide challenges and unique rewards.
Here's what the $99.99 Deluxe Edition offers:
Full base game
Pre-Order Bonus: Gilded Glory Pack
1 Vault Hunter Skin
1 Weapon Skin
1 ECHO-4 Drone Skin
Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin
Bounty Pack Bundle
4 unique areas, featuring new missions and unique bosses
4 Vault Cards with unique challenges and rewards
New gear and weapons
New Vault Hunter cosmetics
4 New vehicles with new cosmetics
For those going all-in with the $129.99 Super Deluxe Edition, the package comes with everything from the Deluxe Edition and then some. It adds the Ornate Order Pack, which includes a full set of Vault Hunter cosmetics (skins, heads, bodies), and the Vault Hunter Pack. The latter contains two brand-new playable Vault Hunters, two full Story Packs, additional map regions, and more weapons and ECHO-4 cosmetics.
Here's what the $129.99 Super Deluxe Edition offers:
Full base game
Pre-Order Bonus: Gilded Glory Pack*
1 Vault Hunter Skin
1 Weapon Skin
1 ECHO-4 Drone Skin
Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin
Bounty Pack Bundle
4 unique areas, featuring new missions and unique bosses
4 Vault Cards with unique challenges and rewards
New gear and weapons
New Vault Hunter cosmetics
4 New vehicles with new cosmetics
Ornate Order Pack
4 Vault Hunter Skins
4 Vault Hunter Heads
4 Vault Hunter Bodies
Vault Hunter Pack
2 new playable Vault Hunters
2 new Story Packs, featuring all new story and side missions
2 new map regions
New gear and weapons
New Vault Hunter cosmetics
New ECHO-4 cosmetics
But perhaps the most eyebrow-raising offering is the Echo-4 Bundle, a $150 collector’s package that includes physical goodies like a statue, necklace, posters, and in-game SHIFT codes—yet it doesn’t come with the actual/base game. That means anyone interested in both the collector’s items and the ability to play the game would need to spend at least $220 total.
Borderlands 4 is set to release on September 12, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. With less than three months to go, players can now start deciding which version of Pandora’s chaotic new chapter is worth their hard-earned cash.
