One of the first big additions will be the return of Nuketown 2025, dropping on November 20. From there, Season One will expand with seven new 6v6 maps, including remastered classics like Meltdown and Standoff, alongside fresh battlegrounds such as Fate, Odysseus, Yakei, and Utopia. According to Treyarch, this is shaping up to be the “biggest season in franchise history.”

Zombies fans aren’t being left out either. Season One will introduce three new maps, two of which are Survival-focused. Among them is Exit 115, plus larger-scale experiences like Astra Malorum and Zarya Cosmodrome. Limited-time holiday-themed events are also planned, giving players new reasons to jump back into the undead chaos.

The roadmap doesn’t stop at maps. Treyarch confirmed that seven new weapons are coming in Season One, including the return of the Maddox RFB from Black Ops 4, as well as the ballistic knife and crossbow. Fan-favorite modes like Sticks and Stones and Prop Hunt are also making a comeback.

In a Dev Talk, design director Matt Scronce explained that several gameplay tweaks are being made based on community feedback. For example, the Dexterity perk will no longer be required for actions like sliding or diving, footstep audio has been slightly increased, and mantle speeds are being standardized across the board. Perk slots are also being rebalanced, while aim assist is under review to close the gap between controller and keyboard players.

Interestingly, Treyarch also revealed that it turned down “big brand” collaborations for Black Ops 7, choosing instead to focus on refining the core experience. This signals a push to keep the season content grounded in Call of Duty’s own identity rather than leaning on outside partnerships.
