Call of Duty: Warzone is officially making its return to the Esports World Cup 2025, with $1 million on the line and 21 top-tier Trio squads ready to drop into Rebirth Island from August 6–9 at EWC Arena 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

After a successful run last year that saw Team Falcons clinch the title (and contribute to their Club Championship win), the stage is set once again for a battle royale spectacle. And yes, the Falcons are back to defend their crown — this time with an even deeper global field.

Here’s a full breakdown of everything you need to know about Call of Duty: Warzone x Esports World Cup 2025, including its format, schedule, prize pool, teams, and how to tune in.

Tournament Format

The Warzone EWC 2025 tournament sticks to the Resurgence Trios mode on Rebirth Island, offering fast-paced, high-intensity action throughout.

1. Solo Seeding Stage

  • Each player competes solo across 4 matches.

  • Individual scores are combined to determine team seeding for the Group Stage.

2. Group Stage

  • 21 teams split into 3 groups of 7.

  • Teams face off in 4 to 8 matches (TBD).

  • Top 7 teams advance to Finals.

  • Remaining 14 drop into Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

3. Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ)

  • 14 teams compete in 6 matches.

  • Top 7 advance to Finals.

4. Finals – Match Point Format

  • 14 teams (7 from Groups + 7 from LCQ).

  • First team to reach the point threshold and win a match after that is crowned champion.

  • Multiple teams can hit Match Point, but only one can close it out.

No match limits in Finals, and every kill and placement matters — it’s a clutch-heavy format built for big moments.

Schedule

  • Location: EWC Arena 2, Riyadh

  • Dates: August 6–9, 2025

The four-day event includes all three stages, culminating in the high-stakes, no-holds-barred Finals. Specific match timings will be announced closer to the event.

Prize Pool and Distribution

The $1,000,000 prize pool will be split among the top finishers, along with EWC Club Points that contribute to the broader $27 million Club Championship:
