Capcom Reports Record Sales with Monster Hunter Wilds Leading the Charge

Capcom has announced its highest-ever sales and profits for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, with Monster Hunter Wilds playing a major role in this success.
The gaming company reached new financial heights with an 11.3% increase in net sales and a 15.2% boost in operating income compared to the previous year.
This marks Capcom’s 8th consecutive year of record-breaking revenue and 10th straight year of double-digit profit growth.
Monster Hunter Wilds Drives Massive Gains
Released on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds quickly became a best-seller, moving over 10 million units in its first month alone. The game’s explosive debut, combined with steady performance from the Resident Evil series, helped drive Capcom’s stellar financial results.
According to the company’s earnings report, Capcom sold 51.87 million game units over the fiscal year—a 13% year-over-year increase and the highest annual unit sales in the company's history. Digital downloads made up 90% of all game purchases, reinforcing Capcom’s ongoing shift to digital-first strategies.
The company's financial success extends beyond just Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom effectively leveraged its major brands across various entertainment sectors, including movies, merchandise, and esports.
Their Arcade Operations business maintained steady growth through consistent store operations and new store formats, while their Amusement Equipments division saw increased sales of new smart pachislo machines, including those featuring Monster Hunter Rise.

These numbers highlight the continued popularity of both the Monster Hunter and Resident Evil franchises, which rank as Capcom's top two game series of all time. Resident Evil leads with 170 million lifetime sales, followed by Monster Hunter with 120 million.
The company's outlook remains optimistic for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. Capcom forecasts net sales of 190,000 million yen and operating income of 73,000 million yen, which would extend their streak of record-breaking performance to nine consecutive years.
