IO Interactive Reveal All Cast for 007 First Light

IO Interactive’s upcoming Bond game, 007 First Light, has officially introduced its cast, with Irish actor Patrick Gibson stepping into the iconic role of James Bond. The reveal, made during the recent PlayStation’s State of Play, not only confirmed Gibson as the main lead but also highlighted the strong ensemble supporting him.

Gibson, known for his roles in Dexter: Original Sin, The OA, and Shadow and Bone, takes on the challenge of portraying a much younger Bond than we’ve seen before. In this standalone origin story, Bond begins his journey at just 26 years old, fresh from the Royal Navy and still carving his path in MI6. At 30, Gibson becomes the youngest actor to ever embody the spy on screen. According to narrative director Martin Emborg, IO sought someone who could bring “energy, charm, and a touch of brashness” to this inexperienced version of 007, rather than relying on a household name.

But Gibson isn’t alone in carrying the weight of the story. The game’s cast features both returning staples from Bond lore and new characters crafted for this fresh take. Priyanga Burford steps into the role of M, MI6’s commanding chief who serves as both mentor and authority figure to the young agent.

Alastair Mackenzie, known for Monarch of the Glen and Outlaw King, brings his experience to Q, the gadgets expert whose wit and inventions are bound to help Bond through tricky situations.

And Kiera Lester portrays the ever-iconic Miss Moneypenny, giving a modern spin on the character’s signature intelligence and charm.

Veteran actor Lennie James (Fear the Walking Dead, Line of Duty) plays John Greenway, Bond’s mentor, designed to anchor the rookie spy with wisdom and experience.

Meanwhile, Noémie Nakai (Tokyo Vice, Army of Thieves) appears as Miss Roth, a mysterious new character likely tied to Bond’s global missions.

British actress Gemma Chan (Marvel’s Eternals, Crazy Rich Asians, The Creator) lends her voice and likeness to Selina Tan, MI6’s Head of Tactical Simulation.

007 First Light is a third-person action-adventure prequel, not tied to the film canon, but inspired by Ian Fleming’s novels. It is officially set to release on March 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.

The game is already up for pre-order, with multiple editions including Standard, Specialist, and Legacy. Players who pre-order the digital Standard Edition will receive a free Deluxe upgrade.
