Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.3 officially rolls out today, July 17, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S—bringing a slew of new features that mostly focus on vehicles, customization, quality-of-life improvements, and an upgraded photo mode.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version is not included just yet, but CD Projekt Red says it’ll land on a "later date."
The update arrives at a time when Cyberpunk 2077 was recently added to PlayStation Plus, pulling in a fresh wave of players. Whether you’re returning or diving into Night City for the first time, Update 2.3 gives you more tools to explore, style out, and experience the game on your own terms.
Let’s break down what’s new in this update:
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3
Vehicle Customization & AutoDrive Features
One of the biggest focuses of Update 2.3 is how you move through Night City. Driving is now much smoother—and way cooler.
New Vehicle Features:
AutoDrive system lets your car take the wheel. Set a destination, sit back, and let the vehicle drive itself (must be on-road).
Cinematic camera mode while AutoDriving for that movie-like cruising experience.
Delamain cab rides are back—just call him and he’ll take you places (unlocked after "Don’t Lose Your Mind").
New Vehicles (All with Side Jobs to Unlock):
Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru – From The Hunt and The Beast In Me.
Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred" – Requires progress through The Beast In Me: Badlands/Santo Domingo and Transmission.
Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa (motorcycle) – First customizable bike, unlocked through purchases and a crime report quest.
Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila – Directly purchasable through AUTOFIXER.
Customization Upgrades:
Twintone Paint Jobs – Scan cars on the road and apply their paint jobs to yours (including bikes).
CrystalCoat™ expansion – Now available on more brands and even cracked versions for cheaper models.
Photo Mode Gets a Huge Makeover
Cyberpunk 2077’s Photo Mode just became a playground for content creators and virtual photographers.
Photo Mode Enhancements:
Change weather (rain, acid rain, fog, etc.) and time of day in real-time.
27 new NPCs you can place in scenes, most with alternate outfits.
Add custom filters, frames, stickers, and control lighting tools with better camera speed and positioning.
Toggle between V’s saved outfits and use natural poses.
Frame forward and game speed control let you capture that perfect action moment.
CD Projekt also teased a new Photo Mode contest, so now’s the time to start snapping those cinematic shots.
PC & Console Tech Upgrades
For players on high-end setups, CD Projekt is also pushing some solid tech improvements.
PC-Specific Updates:
AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation support available now.
AMD FSR 4 support coming soon with updated drivers.
Intel XeSS 2.0 and HDR10+ Gaming now supported.
Improved DLSS preset handling and added mouse multi-monitor support.
Increased save file limit from 12MB to 15MB.
Console-Specific:
VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support now live on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Improved foliage response to weather on PS5.
Additional Improvements & Bug Fixes
CD Projekt has also addressed dozens of bugs and added quality-of-life updates. A few standouts:
Option to tell Johnny Silverhand to leave the passenger seat (for a while).
Multiple quest fixes, especially for Cyberpsycho Sighting: Bloody Ritual and Sex on Wheels.
Improved Cyberware shard drops and combat behavior.
Option to replay the tutorial anytime from settings.
Fixed a variety of visual, audio, and localization issues.

What’s Next for Cyberpunk?
As for the future, CD Projekt hasn’t confirmed whether Update 2.3 marks the end of major content updates. However, during a recent livestream, Associate Game Director Paweł Sasko didn’t rule out the possibility of one final update aligning with the game’s fifth anniversary in December.
Meanwhile, the next chapter in the Cyberpunk universe—Cyberpunk 2—has officially entered pre-production. But don’t expect it anytime soon. Based on current estimates, it might not arrive until 2030 or later.
Oh, and if you're on a Mac—you’re in luck. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is now officially supported on macOS starting today.
