Actor and former WWE star Dave Bautista is collaborating with Steve Lerner, the writer behind the popular game Stray, to create a new stealth-action video game titled Cat Assassin. The project will also expand into a larger multimedia franchise, including a film, animated series, comics, and more later on.

The game is being developed by Bautista’s production company, Dogbone Entertainment, which he founded in 2022, in partnership with Titan1Studios. The title aims to build a rich, stylized universe that mixes action, stealth, and a touch of humor.

Cat Assassin is set in a neo-noir city populated by anthropomorphic cats. Players will take on the role of Hugh, a highly trained feline assassin. The story follows Hugh’s journey as he navigates a dangerous urban landscape filled with criminal cartels, power struggles, and personal challenges. According to a report by GameRant, the gameplay draws inspiration from established stealth-action franchises such as Splinter Cell, Assassin’s Creed, and Sifu, while also capturing some of the charm and tone found in Stray.

While gameplay footage and in-depth details are not yet available, the creators have confirmed that Cat Assassin will combine action-packed missions with sneaky, strategic gameplay. The game is still in early development, so no release window has been shared so far.

Beyond just the game, Cat Assassin is being developed as a full-fledged franchise. Plans are already in motion for various media adaptations including a comic series, an animated show, and a feature film. Bautista, who has been vocal about his passion for gaming—especially his dream of starring in a Gears of War movie—described the world of Cat Assassin as “truly unique” and said he’s excited to help bring it to life.

More updates on the development timeline and media expansion are expected in the coming months.
