Death Stranding 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Hideo Kojima’s genre-defying title, is set to deliver not just bold storytelling and unique gameplay—but also a lineup of voice talent that’s nothing short of cinematic.

Scheduled to release on June 26, 2025, the game picks up eleven months after the events of the original, bringing back many familiar characters while introducing a wave of new faces.

Once again, Norman Reedus returns in the leading role of Sam Porter Bridges, a character that players grew deeply attached to in the first game. Known widely for his work in The Walking Dead, Reedus brings gritty realism and emotional depth to the role. Léa Seydoux also reprises her role as Fragile, continuing the narrative threads established in Death Stranding. Seydoux, a French actress recognized for her performances in James Bond, Mission: Impossible, and Wes Anderson films, remains a central part of Kojima's storytelling vision.

Troy Baker, another returning powerhouse, is back as Higgs Monaghan. Baker, known for voicing iconic characters like Joel in The Last of Us and Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, remains a fan-favorite in the gaming community. Meanwhile, Elle Fanning joins the cast as a new character named Tomorrow.

Alongside the leads, Shioli Kutsuna plays Rainy, Darren Jacobs takes over the voice of Heartman, and Alissa Jung voices a new character named Lucy.

The inclusion of George Miller—yes, the filmmaker behind Mad Max—adds a surprising twist. While Miller’s likeness is used for a character named Tarman, the voice performance is provided by Marty Rhone. A similar approach is taken for Dollman, whose appearance is based on Fatih Akin, but voiced by Jonathan Roumie.

As per earlier reports and confirmed cast listings, other returning characters include Tommie Earl Jenkins as Die-Hardman, Margaret Qualley (likely returning as Mama), and Lindsay Wagner as Bridget Strand. Notably, Nicolas Winding Refn, who originally portrayed Heartman, lends only his likeness this time, with Jacobs stepping in for the voice role.

New additions also include Luca Marinelli as Neil, Debra Wilson as a Doctor, Alastair Duncan as The President, and Jeff Leach as Pierre Southern. Kojima being Kojima, has also teased “even more surprise cameos”, continuing the tradition set by the first game which featured celebrities like Conan O’Brien and Edgar Wright.

Interestingly, cameos by Danny and Michael Philippou, the duo behind the horror hit Talk to Me, have also been confirmed via voiceover roles. Additionally, Ma Dong-seok, a South Korean star best known for Train to Busan, is listed among the cast, although his character remains a mystery.

For fans in Japan, the Japanese voice cast includes heavy hitters like Kenjiro Tsuda as Sam, Nana Mizuki as Fragile, and Satoshi Mikami as Higgs, as announced during Tokyo Game Show 2024.
