Delta Force has now broken its all-time peak player record on Steam, just weeks ahead of its much-anticipated console launch.

According to data from SteamDB, the free-to-play first-person shooter reached a new high of 177,862 concurrent players on July 6, 2025, setting a fresh milestone. It's a remarkable achievement for a relatively new FPS title in such a competitive market.

The surge in player activity comes at a pivotal time. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Delta Force set to launch on August 19, it appears momentum is building rapidly. Crossplay and cross-progression will link the PC, mobile, and console ecosystems, which means this peak might just be the beginning.

Even as of July 8, Steam charts show the game peaking again at 176,311 players, reinforcing the idea that this isn’t a one-off spike. The game currently holds a daily average of 80,000–115,000 concurrent players, indicating healthy retention and a strong community foundation.

And the timing couldn’t be better.

Tomorrow, on July 9, Team Jade is set to roll out the massive Season Break update for PC and mobile platforms. The patch is expected to bring two new maps, a new operator named Tempest, new weapons and vehicles (like a compound bow and jet skis), and a crossover event with Arknights. Given the buzz around this content drop, it wouldn’t be surprising if the player count pushes past the 200K mark in the coming days.

What makes Delta Force’s performance especially noteworthy is how it’s stacking up against some of the genre’s biggest names. For instance, Call of Duty recorded a peak of just 92,183 players in the last 30 days. Delta Force has nearly doubled that figure.

A big part of its success boils down to the game’s accessible and content-rich model. It’s free, has a compelling PvP setup, a solo campaign (including the Black Hawk Down storyline), and extraction shooter mechanics in its Hazard Operations mode. Add to that frequent updates, fair monetization, and upcoming console support, and you’ve got a shooter that checks a lot of boxes for modern players.

All eyes are now on the July 9 update and the August 19 console launch.
