Dragami Games is teaming up with Taiwan-based Nada Holdings to develop multiple new projects centered around the Lollipop Chainsaw franchise.

The announcement was made on July 17, following the strong performance of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, a 4K remaster of the 2012 cult-classic zombie action game.

Nada Holdings, known for its work in anime, manga, and game IPs, brings experience in cross-media development to the table. The company has previously been involved in projects like The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki – Northern War anime and the Traditional Chinese localization of Final Fantasy XIV.

While details are still under wraps, both companies confirmed they are already in the planning stages and forming teams for these upcoming ventures.

What sparked this partnership seems to be more than just business. As per the official press release, Nada Holdings' chairperson is personally a fan of Lollipop Chainsaw, and is committed to preserving its unique tone, humor, and aesthetic in future works. That passion could play a key role in how the franchise evolves beyond games.

According to Dragami Games, combined sales of the original Lollipop Chainsaw and its remaster have surpassed 1.5 million copies. Interestingly, RePOP exceeded expectations, which likely encouraged the publisher to push the IP into new territory. The company now aims to “create new value while upholding the spirit and appeal of the original” by branching out into collaborative projects with different industries.

While there’s no confirmation yet, the involvement of Nada Holdings raises the possibility of seeing the Lollipop Chainsaw universe in formats like anime or even live-action adaptations. Given Nada’s background, this expansion seems like a natural next step.

UPDATE: On July 24, Dragami Games issued a press release announcing a new game and an anime adaptation now in development. They mentioned that the new installment will feature dark humor, similar to its predecessor, and will be released without "DEI censorship." Additionally, an official X account for the new Lollipop Chainsaw project has been launched.

For now, fans can revisit the remastered version, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, which is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
