Elden Ring Developer Announced The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive

Duskbloods

FromSoftware has officially confirmed that The Duskbloods will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, launching in 2026. The reveal happened during Nintendo’s big Switch 2 presentation, where they showed off the new console and its lineup of upcoming games.

So, what’s The Duskbloods all about? It’s a PvPvE multiplayer experience, meaning players will face both each other and AI-controlled enemies. Up to 8 players will battle it out to claim something called the "First Blood."

The game is directed by none other than Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mastermind behind Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring.

The reveal trailer gave off serious Bloodborne vibes, with gothic cities, towering cathedrals, and massive bridges to explore.

The vampire theme was front and center—one scene even showed a character biting another, seemingly absorbing their essence to level up.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a FromSoftware game without some brutal boss fights. One shot in the trailer showed what looked like a battle against a man-eating dinosaur (yeah, that’s going to be fun).

Multiplayer also seems to play a big role. The footage teased players dropping into each other’s worlds, possibly for co-op or PvP action.

This is a huge exclusive for Nintendo. Alongside The Duskbloods, FromSoftware is also bringing Elden Ring to the Switch 2, marking a bigger push for hardcore gaming on Nintendo hardware.

The Nintendo Switch 2: What’s New?

The Switch 2 itself stole the show during the presentation. Nintendo confirmed some major upgrades, including:

  • A bigger screen

  • Improved audio

  • New controllers with a "C" button for party chat

  • GameChat support for up to 12 players

Several new games were also revealed, including Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, both launching around the same time as the console. Mario Kart World will be available day one.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5, 2025, priced at $449.99. That puts The Duskbloods about a year out from release, making it one of the most anticipated titles for the console.
