The Esports Awards has officially announced its second annual show at the Esports World Cup (EWC), scheduled for August 10, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This year’s ceremony will be a special edition titled the “Decade Awards”, marking the 10th anniversary of the Esports Awards and celebrating the achievements and contributions made over the past ten years.

The event is part of a three-year partnership between the Esports Awards and the EWC Foundation, which began with their first joint show last year. Unlike the usual yearly format, the 2025 edition will recognize long-term excellence across the esports ecosystem, focusing on consistency, influence, and overall impact over the last decade.

In a statement, Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards, said, “2025 is set to be a monumental year with the Decade Awards, celebrating the last 10 years of esports and competitive success. It’s a privilege to partner again with the Esports World Cup and highlight the triumphs of our beloved esports community.”

There are 14 award categories in total, spanning players, streamers, organizations, events, and more. The winners will be titled “of the Decade” rather than the usual “of the Year.” The nominee list includes some of the biggest names and moments in gaming history.

Fans will have the chance to vote for their favorites from June 13 to August 11 through the official voting site: www.esportsawards.com/vote. Voting is open daily, allowing supporters to boost their favorite nominees by participating each day.

In addition, the regular annual awards show will be held later this year, just like last year, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California on November 21, 2024. The decision to split into two shows was influenced by controversial human rights issues connected to Saudi Arabia, which led to the departure of several key figures from the team last year. The alternative location is basically to soothe this anger.
