Epic Games has announced plans to close several Fortnite OG Ranked Zero Build servers starting March 4.
The company cited "matchmaking health" as the reason for shutting down these servers, according to a recent post on Twitter.
While many servers will close on March 4, players should note that European (EU) and North American Central (NAC) servers will stay online until Fortnite OG Season 2 ends on March 25.
Players from regions losing server access won't be left stranded, though. Epic has confirmed that gamers can switch their settings to play on the remaining European and North American Central servers without any penalties through the end of the season.

Fortnite OG Season 2, which launched on January 31, has been quite popular among players. The mode offers a nostalgic experience for longtime fans who can once again use classic weapons like the Zapotron. Newer players, meanwhile, get to experience Fortnite's early days and explore original maps for the first time.
The Fortnite OG Item Shop has been particularly popular, allowing players to purchase rare items like the Renegade Raider skin for the first time in years. The community has also responded positively to the mode's shorter seasons and battle passes featuring remixed skins.
While Epic hasn’t detailed long-term plans, they did mention that the mode will return in the future, depending on the matchmaking health and player demand.
