After months of speculation and a long 3.5-year break, Garena has finally confirmed that the Free Fire Max India Cup 2025 (FFMIC 2025) will feature a ₹1 crore prize pool. That’s right—Free Fire is officially back in action, and it’s returning with some serious money on the line.

The announcement, shared on Free Fire India’s official channels, brings Free Fire back into the competitive spotlight and puts it shoulder-to-shoulder with some of India’s biggest mobile esports events. The last time we saw this level of prize money in Free Fire was during the FFIC 2021 Fall, which also had a ₹1 crore pool. So, while it’s not a new high, it’s definitely a strong statement from Garena that they’re ready to rebuild India’s Free Fire ecosystem from the ground up.

According to the event roadmap, the Grand Finals—where this ₹1 crore will be split among top-performing squads—is scheduled for September 27–28, 2025. The road to the finals won’t be easy though. The tournament features four competitive stages, starting with in-game qualifiers on July 13, followed by online qualifiers, then the league stage, and finally, the much-anticipated LAN showdown.

What makes this exciting is the open format. You don’t need to be part of a big-name org to take part—anyone can jump in. That means newer players and underdog squads have a real chance to grind their way to the top and grab a slice of that massive prize pool. In-game registrations are open until July 7.

Compared to other games, Free Fire is stepping back into a very competitive field. BGMI, for instance, recently hosted the BMPS 2025 with a jaw-dropping ₹4 crore prize pool, and BGIS 2025 followed with ₹3.2 crore. So while Free Fire’s ₹1 crore isn’t topping the charts, it’s still a major deal—especially for a game that’s been away for so long.
