KRAFTON is teaming up with Korean music icon G-DRAGON, bringing fresh crossover content to both PUBG and PUBG Mobile.
The announcement was made during G-DRAGON’s recent concert in Las Vegas, marking his first official step into the gaming world.
Starting September 19, players can expect themed content, in-game events, and exclusive trailers rolling out across KRAFTON’s official channels. It’s another big moment in the growing love story between K-pop and gaming culture.
But it’s not just digital. KRAFTON’s also hosting a special offline event in Seongsu, Seoul to celebrate the collab. More global fan events are in the pipeline too, though they’re keeping those details hush-hush for now.
Interestingly, this project seems focused purely on the player experience — no esports tie-ins teased (yet).
For those who don’t know: G-DRAGON, aka Kwon Ji-yong, is a legend in K-pop. He debuted back in 2006 as the frontman of BIGBANG, one of the groups that helped take Korean music global. Now, he’s adding gaming to his already stacked resume.
This isn’t PUBG’s first K-pop crossover either. Just last month, the PUBG Nations Cup featured collabs with virtual boy band PLAVE and girl group aespa, who even performed at the grand final. KRAFTON’s also worked with BLACKPINK and BABYMONSTER in the past — though those weren’t tied to esports either.
And it’s not just PUBG riding the wave. Riot Games has been blending music and gaming for years—think K/DA, New Jeans (NJZ) for the LoL Worlds anthem, and more recently, KISS OF LIFE for the 2024 VCT anthem.
