GTA V Actor Says GTA 6 Deserves $100 Price, Given the Work Behind It

Grand Theft Auto V actor Jay Klaitz, best known for portraying the fan-favorite hacker Lester Crest, believes that Grand Theft Auto 6 might actually justify a $100 price tag. In a recent interview with The Escapist, Klaitz discussed the massive scale and effort involved in making Rockstar’s next big release, suggesting that the rumored high cost could be fair considering what goes into building a GTA game.

“You’re Almost Buying Multiple Games in One”

Speaking about the production process, Klaitz reflected on his time working on GTA V, noting how extensive the motion capture and development period were. “Yeah dude. I mean, GTA V was so heavy on the mocap. I assume that GTA VI will be the same way, and these games take so long to make. Years and years and years,” he said.

Klaitz added that when players buy a GTA game, they’re “almost buying multiple games in one,” pointing to the mix of single-player, online, and post-launch content that has become standard for the series.

While Klaitz believes GTA 6 could warrant the $100 label, he also recognized the need for accessibility. “I would like to see it made more affordable for folks,” he said. “Maybe there’s a way to split the difference, but I share the sentiment that this game warrants that price tag.”

What’s Next for Grand Theft Auto?

Klaitz also shared his thoughts on where the series could go next. With GTA 6 set in Vice City, he floated the idea of future installments exploring entirely new environments. “It would be cool to do it somewhere like Dubai,” he said. “You’d get so many different environments — huge skyscrapers, deserts, all in one game.”

He even imagined a northern spin on the franchise: “Maybe somewhere far up north, like Greenland or something. It might be too isolated, but it would be an interesting version of GTA.”

For now, the focus remains on GTA 6, which is set to launch in May 2026. Whether it becomes the first $100 standard release or not, the game is already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious titles in gaming history. And if Klaitz’s comments are anything to go by, Rockstar is betting that the scale of GTA 6 will make every dollar feel justified.
