The official Honor of Kings India account confirmed the news on February 28.
As for the release date, the game is officially set to launch on March 11, 2026.
The launch window also lines up well with the global esports calendar, giving Indian teams enough runway to prepare for international competition later in the year.
The game itself is a competitive 5v5 MOBA built from the ground up for mobile. Matches run between 15 to 20 minutes on average, making it very accessible for mobile players.
The hero roster includes over 100 unique characters spread across roles like Assassin, Mage, Tank, and Support. One thing that stands out is its approach to monetization. The game is designed around the idea of skill over pay-to-win, meaning there are no stat boosts or stamina systems that give paying players an unfair edge.
As per reports, India will also get dedicated local servers, which means lower latency and a smoother gaming experience overall.
Voice-overs for heroes in local languages are also reportedly in the pipeline, which is a thoughtful touch for the Indian market.
On the esports front, things are already getting serious. According to Letsgrowesports, India is expected to receive two slots at the Esports World Cup 2026 for Honor of Kings.
Several major Indian esports organizations have reportedly already begun internal trials and scouting sessions to build their rosters ahead of official qualifiers.

The Indian mobile gaming scene has long been dominated by battle royale titles. Honor of Kings entering the picture could shift that dynamic in a meaningful way. The game comes with a well-established global competitive structure, including the King Pro League, which has drawn massive viewership numbers internationally. Bringing that kind of ecosystem to India could genuinely elevate the country's MOBA scene to a new level.
