I Am Jesus Christ Launch Guide: Release Times, System Requirements, and More

The long-awaited biblical simulation game I Am Jesus Christ is officially launching on April 2, 2026, right ahead of Easter Sunday on April 5.

Developed by Space Boat Studios and published by PlayWay S.A., this first-person narrative experience has been in the works since its initial announcement back in 2019. That is a long road, but it looks like the small five-person team is finally ready to deliver.

The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. No console releases announced.

What Is the Game About?

I Am Jesus Christ puts you in the sandals of the Son of God himself. It is a first-person, story-driven experience inspired closely by the New Testament Gospels. You follow the life of Jesus from his baptism all the way through his crucifixion and resurrection.

The game takes you through faithfully recreated locations across the Holy Land, including Jerusalem and Galilee. Along the way, you will interact with over 60 story-driven characters, including Jesus's twelve disciples, and relive iconic biblical moments like the Last Supper.

One of the bigger draws is the miracle system. Players can perform over 30 miracles throughout the game, including:

  • Walking on water

  • Feeding the 5,000

  • Healing lepers and restoring sight to the blind

  • Calming storms

  • Casting out demons

Miracles are tied to a "Holy Spirit power" mechanic that you recharge through prayer.

The game also features a temptation sequence where you face off against Satan in the desert, staying true to the biblical account.

According to the developers, the full experience offers over 10 hours of gameplay. Bible passages appear throughout the journey to give each moment additional context and grounding.

Pricing and Editions

An official Steam price hasn’t been confirmed yet, but reports suggest it will be around $15 to $20 USD. For an indie narrative title, that budget-friendly range feels pretty reasonable.

There is only a standard digital edition available, with no special editions, physical copies, or DLC announced at this time.

If you want to try before you buy, a free Prologue has been available since December 2022, and a playable demo for the full game is currently live on Steam.

A Few Things Worth Noting

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and does use AI tools to support voice acting production, though the developers clarify that all creative decisions remain human-led.

At launch, Steam achievements will not be available. The team explained, "We are fully focused on improving gameplay and polishing everything that comes out during testing," adding that achievements may arrive in future updates.

As for what comes next after launch, fans have been asking about potential expansions covering other scriptures. The developers kept things measured, saying, "We're focused on release right now. We'll decide on any next steps after launch, once we've had a chance to review how the game is received."

The game has already racked up 225,000 Steam wishlists heading into launch, which is a solid number for an indie title of this nature.
