Popular Twitch Star Kai Cenat Launches Streamer University, Millions Jump In

Kai Cenat

Kai Cenat, one of Twitch's biggest stars, has officially launched Streamer University, a new platform designed to help aspiring content creators learn the skills of successful streaming.

Cenat announced the project on May 6 via a Hogwarts-inspired video, inviting fans to “enroll now” in a school “where chaos is encouraged and content is king.”

“I’m excited to extend to you a most heartfelt welcome to the very first class of Streamer University,” Cenat said. “I look forward to seeing you all on campus for our first-ever semester.”

A Weekend College Takeover for Creators

This launch follows Cenat's initial mention of the project during a Twitch livestream about four months ago. The 23-year-old streamer explained his vision at that time: "I'm going to rent out a university over a course of a weekend. It will be streaming university."

The concept involves using an actual higher education facility where participants can stream throughout the weekend. Cenat emphasized that the opportunity would be open to creators of all sizes, not just established streamers.

On social media, Cenat clarified that Streamer University will be "an all-inclusive trip paid to where all creators will be living on a college campus for FREE and just enjoying getting content in general." He added that approximately 150 applicants will be selected from those who apply.

Celebrity Professors and Chaos-Inspired Curriculum

In a unique twist, Cenat aims to bring in other major internet personalities as “guest professors.” He envisions creators like Mark Rober teaching science via live experiments and MrBeast leading finance classes on content monetization.

The announcement has already generated excitement, with fans humorously applying for supporting roles like "groundskeeper" or "janitor" at the university.

The website crashed minutes after opening due to over 1 million simultaneous applications.

Applications for both students and teachers are now being accepted through the university's website.
