Killing Floor 3 is officially launching on July 24, 2025, across PC and consoles, bringing back the blood-drenched chaos fans of the series know well.

Developed by Tripwire Interactive, this third entry ramps up the horror, adds smarter enemies, and introduces new gameplay mechanics that aim to evolve the franchise while keeping its roots intact.

Originally planned for a March 25 release, the game was delayed following negative feedback during closed beta testing earlier this year. Issues like unpolished UI, sluggish performance, and general stability problems led the studio to hold the launch and go back to fine-tuning. That extra development time seems to have paid off, with the final version now prepped and ready for players worldwide.

Release Time & Global Launch Schedule

The game goes live at 10:00 AM PT on July 24, with region-specific release timings as follows:

Game Overview: Welcome to 2091

Killing Floor 3 is set in a dystopian future — the year 2091 — and picks up decades after the events of Killing Floor 2. Players step into the boots of a Nightfall specialist, part of a rebel group fighting to stop Horzine, a megacorporation responsible for unleashing genetically engineered monsters known as Zeds.

The game supports solo play or six-player online co-op, where players face waves of enemies, earn “dosh,” unlock skills, and build deadly weapon loadouts. Tripwire Interactive has made the experience more dynamic this time, introducing enhanced enemy AI, vertical maps, new movement mechanics (like climbing and sliding), and the return of the fan-favorite Zed Time feature — now even gorier thanks to improvements in the M.E.A.T. (Massive Evisceration and Trauma) system.

Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses

Killing Floor 3 is launching with several editions:

  • Standard Edition ($39.99): Includes the base game and Flatline Tactical Bundle (Flatliner weapon skin, Fear the Reaper trinket, and Special Action Force player card).

  • Deluxe Edition ($59.99): Adds the Shadow Agent Specialist & Weapon Skin Sets, Nightfall Supply Pass, and 1000 Creds (in-game currency) on top of everything in Standard.

  • Elite Nightfall Edition ($79.99): Contains all Deluxe content plus the Year 1 Premium Nightfall Supply Pass (includes four additional content drops) and 3000 Creds.

  • Day 1 Edition ($39.99, retail-exclusive outside North America): Includes the base game, Flatline Tactical Bundle, and Clamefield Patrol Specialist Skins Pack. In North America, some retailers like GameStop will offer the Clamefield Pack exclusively, while others include the Flatline bundle.

Gameplay Features & Systems

Players can choose from six specialist classes (e.g., Ninja, Medic, Soldier), each with distinct weapons, perks, and tactical roles. Whether you prefer going melee with a katana or unleashing flamethrowers and shotguns, there’s room to experiment with gear, skills, and upgrades.

Other highlights include:

  • Over 30 skill choices per class with multiple upgrade paths.

  • Advanced movement mechanics for more vertical and fast-paced combat.

  • The Critical Zone System, allowing players to disable Zeds’ abilities by targeting weak spots.

  • Interactive environments featuring deployable traps like spinning fans and auto-turrets.

The M.E.A.T. system now includes additional dismemberment points and persistent blood, making each kill feel brutally immersive. For fans of horror shooters, it’s a feature that sets Killing Floor apart.

Mature Content Advisory

Tripwire isn’t holding back on the gore. Killing Floor 3 features graphic violence, heavy blood splatter, decapitations, disturbing imagery, and mature language. According to the official ESRB-style description, players can expect realistic damage effects, mutilated corpses, and disturbing bio-horror themes inspired by films like The Thing.

Post-Launch Plans and Platforms

The final multiplayer stress test is scheduled for Today, July 20, with sessions from 1–3 PM and 5–7 PM EST on Steam. This test is aimed at ensuring the servers are ready before the full launch.

Tripwire also confirmed that post-launch support will continue with new maps, weapons, enemy types, and playable specialists. The team is sticking with its games-as-a-service approach, which worked well in Killing Floor 2.

While there's been speculation about Killing Floor 3 launching on Xbox Game Pass, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Killing Floor 3 will be available on the following platforms: PC (Via Steam and Epic Game Store), PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S.

However, Killing Floor 3 is not coming to old-gen consoles like PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
