Krafton Invests in JetSynthesys

South Korean gaming giant KRAFTON, known for popular titles like PUBG and BGMI, has made a strategic investment in Indian digital entertainment company JetSynthesys. This funding will support JetSynthesys' ambitious plan to achieve 20x revenue growth over the next six years.

JetSynthesys, founded in 2014 by Rajan Navani, has established itself as a leader in gaming, esports, and creator-driven digital entertainment. The Pune-based company operates across 180 countries and engages millions of users with its diverse products including original IP creation, platform development, and digital community engagement.

The investment round was led by KRAFTON with participation from NAFA Private Equity and existing investors including Pratithi Investments, Serum Institute, and Jetline Group. This marks a significant evolution for JetSynthesys, transitioning from being backed primarily by Indian family offices to attracting international strategic investors.

"This is a defining moment in JetSynthesys' journey," said Rajan Navani, Founder and CEO. "We're expanding from being a new age family office-led company to an India-first global platform. With KRAFTON's trust and shared vision, we're accelerating our ambition to scale 20x over the next six years."

Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "We are excited to deepen our partnership with JetSynthesys. This investment aligns with our belief in India's potential as a global innovation hub. JetSynthesys' ability to create resonant digital IPs makes them an ideal partner in this journey."

The new funding will help JetSynthesys strengthen its presence in India through strategic acquisitions and organic growth while expanding internationally into markets like Japan, the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia. The company already has offices in Tokyo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore.

JetSynthesys has reported impressive financial performance with an unaudited 15% Profit After Tax (PAT) for the last fiscal year, an achievement particularly notable when much of the media and entertainment industry faces economic challenges.

KRAFTON's investment in JetSynthesys aligns with its growing interest in the Indian market. The company has poured over $200 million into the country, backing startups like payments platform Cashfree, audio platform Kuku FM, and influencer marketing platform. It has also supported non-gaming-focused funds such as Lumikai and IMM Investment’s first India fund..

Most recently, they acquired a controlling stake in Nautilus Mobile for $14 million, known for its Real Cricket gaming mobile games.

According to market intelligence firm Niko Partners, mobile games account for nearly 78% of India's gaming revenue. The sector is projected to grow from $640 million in 2023 to $1.1 billion by 2028, representing substantial potential for growth.

KRAFTON itself has been experiencing strong performance, with a 119.3% year-over-year increase in net profit, reaching approximately $889 million in 2024. The company's most successful title in India, BGMI, has surpassed 200 million downloads and recorded its highest-ever sales last year.

JetSynthesys plans to use the investment to build infrastructure in game development, LiveOps, and publishing, leveraging its expertise and global reach.
