Lee 'Faker' Sang-Hyeok, widely regarded as the face of League of Legends esports, is now being featured on limited-edition instant ramen packaging in South Korea.
The crossover, which places the legendary T1 mid-laner on Paldo-branded noodles, marks yet another milestone in esports' growing influence on mainstream consumer culture.
This particular ramen, officially called the “Jjambbong King Cup Ramen (Faker Edition)”, is being spotted at Costco stores across South Korea. The design includes a black-and-white shot of Faker doing his signature whisper pose, with the phrase “King of Legend” printed proudly beside it.
The collaboration has certainly made waves within the League community—even for his teammates. During a livestream, T1 support player Keria joked about sitting next to Faker while eating the ramen with his face on it, saying it was “kinda weird” but hilarious. We can’t blame him—it’s not every day your co-worker is also the guy on your lunch.
Flavor-wise, the ramen packs a punch with a spicy seafood taste that seems to suit Faker’s bold playstyle. And while it’s likely meant to be a Korea-exclusive product, that hasn’t stopped international fans from jumping on the hype train. According to eBay listings (spotted by SI), people have already started reselling the noodles for around $13.80 per cup.
For anyone unfamiliar, Faker isn’t just some player—he’s the player. A five-time League of Legends World Champion, co-owner of T1, and the first person inducted into Riot Games' Hall of Legends. He’s also considered such a national treasure in South Korea that he was exempted from mandatory military service after winning gold at the 2022 Asian Games. Yes, even BTS didn’t get that kind of treatment.
So whether you're a die-hard League fan or just want to slurp up some spicy noodles with a side of esports history, the Faker ramen is turning out to be more than just a novelty—it’s a cultural moment.
