League of Legends Star Uzi Named Second Hall of Legends Inductee

Jian "Uzi" Zihao has officially been named the second-ever inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends, after Faker.

Widely regarded as one of the most mechanically gifted ADCs to ever compete, Uzi’s induction honors a legacy defined by aggressive gameplay, international excellence, and global inspiration.

“Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports,” said Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports.

Uzi’s Career

Uzi first rose to prominence with Royal Club, stunning fans with his pinpoint mechanics and fearless dueling. He later became the face of Royal Never Give Up (RNG), leading the squad through multiple high-stakes tournaments.

  • Worlds Finalist (2013 & 2014): Uzi’s back-to-back World Championship finals appearances at just 16 and 17 years old.

  • 2018 Golden Year: Uzi claimed victory at LPL Spring, MSI 2018, and Asian Games 2018, marking the peak of his career.

  • Later Years: Despite recurring health issues, Uzi returned for short stints with BLG in 2022 and EDG in 2023 before retiring for good.

While Uzi never claimed a World Championship, his influence is undeniable. He redefined what it meant to be an ADC, with team comps often built around his need to carry. His weapon of choice? Mobile, high-skill-cap ADCs like Vayne and Ezreal—champions that let him take over games with flashy, precise plays.

2025 Hall of Legends Schedule

Riot confirmed that Uzi’s official induction ceremony will be held in Shanghai on June 6, 2025, where he will be formally welcomed into the Hall of Legends.

Shortly after, Uzi’s in-game event will launch with Patch 25.12 on June 11. Players can expect exclusive skins, a themed game pass, and various cosmetics around Uzi’s Mad Dog persona.

Skins: Vayne and Kai’Sa Join the Celebration

Though Riot has yet to officially reveal the Hall of Legends skin bundle, leaks suggest (via Dexerto) that Vayne and Kai’Sa will be the featured champions:

  • Vayne (Side Skin): Uzi’s signature champion, known for her agility and high-risk, high-reward style. She was even used to represent Uzi in the Worlds 2018 trailer.

  • Kai’Sa (Main Skin): A more modern pick in Uzi’s career. While not as synonymous with him as Vayne, Kai’Sa became a key part of his late-stage dominance and is one of the most popular ADCs globally.

The skin bundle is rumored to follow a structure similar to Faker’s Hall of Legends event—where LeBlanc was the side skin and Ahri served as the centerpiece with extra content.

Pricing Still Unconfirmed

Riot hasn’t confirmed pricing, but if it mirrors last year’s model, fans may need to prepare their wallets. Faker’s full bundle surpassed $400, prompting Riot to introduce a $400 RP purchase tier for the first time. It remains to be seen if Riot will adjust pricing in 2025.

And of course, both Uzi and his former teams will receive a portion of event-related sales, including bundles and passes.

Mercedes-Benz Tribute: Custom G-Class & Art Piece

Mercedes-Benz, a key partner for Riot’s Hall of Legends program, will commemorate Uzi’s legacy with:

  • A custom art piece blending real-world and League of Legends elements, symbolizing Uzi’s competitive journey.

  • A personalized MANUFAKTUR Mercedes-Benz G-Class EV with EQ Technology.

“We want to honor Uzi with something as individual and unique as his career,” said Bettina Fetzer, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Digital & Communication.

What Is the Hall of Legends?

Launched in 2024, Riot’s Hall of Legends is an annual honor recognizing one player whose career has significantly shaped League of Legends esports.

  • Inductees are chosen by an independent panel of global industry experts.

  • Criteria include international appearances, championship titles, role-specific stats, and overall legacy.

  • Each inductee receives a trophy, is featured in an in-game celebration, and helps share in the revenue from celebratory content.

Fans will be able to learn more about Uzi’s Hall of Legends content, bundle options, and event schedule when Riot updates the official website on May 27, 2025
