Double Dagger Studio has announced that their popular cat adventure game "Little Kitty, Big City" will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on May 9, 2025.
The game, which lets players control a small kitten exploring a city, was already a big hit when it launched on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC last year.
In this charming action game, players take control of a kitten who falls from its high-rise apartment home and must find its way back. Along the way, players can explore a shopping district that works like a small open world, meeting helpful characters including older cats, crows, and raccoons.
The game has been extremely well-received on other platforms. On Steam, it maintains an impressive 96.5% positive rating from more than 10k users. Critics have praised its realistic cat animations and playful atmosphere.
Many players have compared "Little Kitty, Big City" to the 2022 hit game "Stray" by BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive. However, as gamers note, "Little Kitty, Big City" offers a more lighthearted experience compared to "Stray's" more serious tone.
The gameplay focuses on typical cat behaviors that many pet owners will recognize. Players can pounce on birds, knock things over, steal food, and take naps in cozy spots around the city. There are also side quests to complete for various animal characters you meet during your adventure.
One fun feature is the collection of over 40 different hats to customize your kitten, ranging from bunny ears to a shark hood.

Players can also gather fish throughout the world to increase their stamina, which helps with climbing ivy to reach higher places.
Metacritic reviews gave the original release an impressive 79/100 score, with one describing it as "short, sweet, and relaxing."
Most reviews praise the game for being a relaxing, stress-free experience with no combat elements, focusing instead on exploration and light platforming challenges.
The game was created by Matt Wood, who drew inspiration from his own cats, Mario and Roxy.
For players wondering about length, "Little Kitty, Big City" can be completed in about 2-3 hours for the main story, but reaching 100% completion with all side quests and achievements takes around 3-5 hours. The game also includes a convenient fast-travel system using sewer manholes to help players move quickly around the city.
