Marvel Rivals Is Launching a 1v6 Avengers Mode Today and There Is a Lot More Coming After It

Marvel Rivals is kicking off a brand-new phase of its "Path to Doomsday" event with a 1v6 asymmetric PvP mode inspired by the 2012 MCU film, The Avengers.

Launching on April 30, 2026, this mode lets one player take control of a super-powered Loki and face off against a team of six heroes from the original Avengers lineup.

The six heroes available on the defending side are Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. It is the classic Battle of New York roster, and it fits the event's theme perfectly.

Loki, on the other side, comes with an entirely new skill set built around deception, illusions, mind control, and Infinity Stone abilities. He can turn enemy heroes against each other, summon mind-controlled versions of the Avengers to fight alongside him, and even manipulate the battlefield in ways that the regular Loki kit simply does not allow.

Players will also be able to recreate some of the iconic scenes from the movie, such as summoning the Hulk to relive the famous "Puny God" moment.

New Skins Available at Launch

What Is Coming Next on the Path to Doomsday Roadmap

This Avengers 2012 content is just the opening act. According to the roadmap revealed by NetEase during the IRL Assemble event earlier this year, the Path to Doomsday collaboration will run all the way through December 2026, tying each major update to a different Avengers film. Here is what is expected:

  • June 2026: Age of Ultron-themed content, with possible Vision hero addition and an Ultron MCU skin

  • August 2026: Infinity War-themed content, new game mode, and a possible Thanos debut as a playable hero

  • October 2026: Endgame-themed content, new game mode, and potential Captain Marvel addition

  • December 18, 2026: Full Doomsday content drop tied to the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday, with Doctor Doom strongly rumored as a new playable character
