MARVEL SNAP Launches Golden Gauntlet World Championship Series

Second Dinner, the developers behind MARVEL SNAP, a collectible card battler, have announced the Golden Gauntlet World Championship Series, an all-new competitive tournament.
Kicking off on August 9, 2025, this global series is structured around three regional Open Qualifiers, leading up to a global finale in November.
Each qualifier is regionally focused but open to all, meaning players worldwide can compete no matter their location.
Event Schedule & Format
Golden Gauntlet Open 1 – August 9, 2025
Focus: APAC & Western US
Start Time: 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST / 1 AM London (Aug 10) / 3 AM Riyadh / 7 AM Bangkok / 10 AM Sydney
Registration opens: July 31
Player Cap: 1,024
Format: 6 Rounds of Swiss → Top 16 Single-Elimination
Prizes for Top 16
Players finishing 5-1 or better qualify for Golden Gauntlet Worlds
Golden Gauntlet Open 2 – September
Focus: Americas
Same format and prize structure

Format: 9 Rounds of Swiss → Top 16 Playoff
Prizes awarded to Top 16

The event will be broadcast live on MARVEL SNAP's official Twitch and YouTube channels.

The series is being organized in collaboration with GAME ON EVENTS, who have experience running both online and offline competitive events. According to Matthew R., co-founder of GAME ON EVENTS (known online as ItsGuestGaming), the Golden Gauntlet represents a major evolution from grassroots events into a large-scale, community-driven championship.
