PlayStation has confirmed that Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be playable for the first time at Evo 2025, happening from August 1 to 3 in Las Vegas.

The upcoming 4v4 tag-based fighter will be showcased at the Arc System Works booth, giving attendees an early chance to try out the game before its official release.

The announcement was made in a PlayStation Blog post by Reed Baird, Senior Producer at XDEV (PlayStation Studios), who revealed that this marks the game’s first public playable build since its debut during the State of Play broadcast on June 4, 2025.

Fans at Evo will get to form teams of four using six confirmed Marvel characters: Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, Star-Lord, Storm, and Doctor Doom.

Adding to the experience, those who try the demo on-site will receive an exclusive collectible pin based on the game—a small but fun bonus for fans making the trip.

The weekend event also includes a Developer Combat Panel on Friday, August 1, at 8:00 PM PT, hosted on the Evo Showcase Stage. Developers from Arc System Works and Marvel Games will participate, diving deeper into gameplay mechanics and answering audience questions. For those unable to attend in person, the panel will be streamed live on the official Evo Events YouTube channel.

In the same blog post, Game Director Kazuto “Pachi” Sekine said, “The game is still under development, but we’re really looking forward to sharing more at our Evo panel, and especially for fans to try it out for themselves.” He added that the team is trying out fresh ideas to deliver something unique, and community feedback at Evo will help shape the game’s development.

Initially revealed during Sony’s June State of Play, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls stood out with its distinct visual style inspired by Japanese anime aesthetics rather than the traditional Western comic look. Designed by Arc System Works—famous for Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ—the game has already sparked interest for its unique blend of Marvel IP and precision fighting mechanics.
