Megabonk Crosses One Million Sales in Just Two Weeks on Steam

Developer Vedinad has confirmed that Megabonk has sold over one million copies on Steam, reaching the milestone in just two weeks.

The quirky roguelike survival game has quickly become one of 2025’s most surprising indie success stories, proving that the appetite for bullet heaven-style gameplay is still going strong.

If you’ve played Vampire Survivors, you’ll immediately recognize the DNA here. Megabonk takes the same addictive loop of mowing down endless waves of enemies but reimagines it in low-polygon 3D. The result is a chaotic, fast-paced experience that feels familiar yet fresh.

What sets it apart is its eccentric character roster. Instead of sticking to traditional fantasy archetypes, Megabonk throws in oddballs like a sunglasses-wearing skeleton on a skateboard or a bush with a sniper rifle. It’s the kind of weird charm that makes you want to try “just one more run,” even after hours of play.

The game reached a peak concurrent player count of over 117,000 this past weekend, according to SteamDB. This marks it as the eighth indie game in 2025 to surpass 100,000 CCU, joining titles like Schedule I, Peak, and R.O.P.O.

At the time of writing, Megabonk sits in the top five of Steam’s best-seller charts, just behind EA Sports FC 26. It also holds a “very positive” rating (94%) after more than 21,000 reviews.
