Is Michael Bay Directing the Skibidi Toilet Movie?

No, Michael Bay is not directing.

In a recent Instagram video, Bay showed off a stack of scripts he's currently working on, and none of them are titled Skibidi. “Let’s just stop the lore right now,” Bay said, addressing the growing speculation. “You heard it from me.”

While Bay previously teased some Skibidi Toilet-related content and was reportedly connected to the project as a director, he officially clarified he’s only serving as a producer.

Who Is Working on the Skibidi Toilet Movie?

While Bay won't be in the director's chair, he is very much involved in the project behind the scenes. The film is being produced under Invisible Narratives, the media company led by Paramount’s former president Adam Goodman. The production team includes top-tier talent, including:

  • Jeffrey Beecroft, Oscar-nominated production designer (12 Monkeys, Transformers, A Quiet Place)

  • Rob Legato, a three-time Oscar-winning VFX supervisor (Titanic, Avatar, Hugo, The Jungle Book)

According to reports, production is officially in May, with development ramping up since summer 2024.

What Is the Skibidi Toilet Movie About?

The upcoming film is based on the viral YouTube phenomenon created by Alexey Gerasimov, which debuted in February 2023. The Skibidi Toilet series blends surreal machinima animation and chaotic humor, featuring a war between toilets with human heads and bizarre enemies like camera-headed soldiers.

Since its launch, the series has become a global sensation, especially among Gen Alpha audiences, with millions of views and a thriving fanbase.

While story details are under wraps, the film adaptation is expected to build a deeper narrative around the madness of the original, perhaps even exploring its bizarre universe in a cinematic format akin to Transformers or The Lego Movie.
