In an unexpected twist, Microsoft-owned titles have taken over Sony’s PlayStation Store download charts for April 2025.
At the top of the PS5 charts in North America? The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered—Bethesda’s surprise drop that’s been on a tear since launch. Right behind it were Minecraft and Forza Horizon 5, both staples under Microsoft’s gaming umbrella.
Over in Europe, the order shifted slightly, with Forza Horizon 5 leading the pack, followed by Oblivion Remastered and Minecraft in third.
That’s three Microsoft-owned games leading PlayStation’s premium charts in both major regions.
And the success doesn’t stop with the big three. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, also under the Microsoft banner since the Activision Blizzard acquisition, made it into the top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle performed strongly in Europe.
Even Xbox-backed indie RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 punched well above its weight, landing at No. 4 in Europe and No. 6 in North America.

Other platforms' top performers:
In the PSVR2 space, Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate claimed the top spot in both regions, followed by fan-favorites Beat Saber and Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition.
Over on PS4, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 continued its reign of cowboy supremacy, grabbing the No. 1 spot once again in both NA and Europe.
As for free-to-play titles? The usual giants—Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Roblox—dominated downloads, showing their staying power across generations.
Regional preferences also came into play, especially in sports. North American players leaned into MLB The Show 25 and NBA 2K25, while Europe continued its love affair with EA SPORTS FC 25.
The charts also reveal interesting trends in gaming preferences across different platforms. While newer titles dominated the PS5 charts, PS4 gamers gravitated toward established classics like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Devil May Cry HD Collection.
