Microsoft Launches Retro Classics Collection for Game Pass Members

Microsoft has launched Retro Classics with Game Pass, bringing over 50 classic Activision games from the 1980s and 1990s to subscribers at no extra cost.
Developed in partnership with Antstream Arcade, this initiative is positioned as a major step in Microsoft’s long-term commitment to game preservation and backwards compatibility.
Retro Classics is a curated collection of vintage games from Activision’s back catalog, spanning Atari 2600, DOS, Amiga, and even PlayStation (PSX). These titles are available to all Game Pass membership tiers across console, PC, and cloud gaming platforms.

Save & reload progress, a first for many of these games
Achievements added for classic titles
Cross-platform access including Xbox consoles, PC, and supported cloud-enabled devices like Samsung and LG smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, and Meta Quest headsets

Some of these titles are over 45 years old, and Microsoft has promised that more will be added monthly, with the Retro Classics library set to surpass 100 games in the near future.
MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat is also notable for appearing in the PSX section. It was originally released for PC in 1995 before launching on PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1997.
