"A Minecraft Movie" is making huge strides at the global box office, reaching over $550 million in just two weekends of release. This impressive performance puts the film on track to potentially become the first billion-dollar blockbuster of the year.
The PG-rated video game adaptation from Warner Bros. and Legendary has collected exactly $550.6 million worldwide. This total includes $281 million from domestic theaters and $269.6 million from international markets.
With these numbers, "A Minecraft Movie" has already claimed the title of highest-grossing film of 2025, surpassing Disney and Marvel's "Captain America: Brave New World," which has earned $410 million globally after nine weeks in theaters.
During its second weekend, the film continued to show strong performance overseas, adding $79.6 million from 76 international markets. According to box office reports, this represents just a 45% decline from its international opening weekend—a relatively modest drop that suggests good audience reception and staying power.
The United Kingdom has emerged as the top international market for the film, contributing $39.8 million to its total. Other strong territories include China with $20.3 million, Germany with $18.9 million, and Mexico with $18.7 million.
Industry observers are now watching closely to see if it can maintain momentum and cross the coveted billion-dollar threshold in the coming weeks.
