Liftoff has just announced the winners of its Mobile AppDev Awards 2025, spotlighting some of the most creative and engaging achievements in mobile gaming.
The awards recognized outstanding games across multiple categories, including collaborations, social events, minigames, newcomers, and evolving titles.
Standout Gaming Collaborations
Midcore Winner: Blizzard Entertainment took home the Best Collaboration Event with Diablo Immortal x World of Warcraft: Eternal War. This crossover honored WoW’s 20th anniversary by dropping iconic Warcraft lore and strategic faction-based gameplay straight into the Diablo Immortal universe. The judges were especially impressed by how well the event captured the spirit of the original games.
Casual Winner: Scopely snagged the top spot with Stumble Guys x My Hero Academia. This unexpected mashup won praise for smoothly incorporating anime-style powers (Quirks) into gameplay and introducing a Hero Exam race map that felt right out of the show. Fans of both franchises had plenty to geek out over.
Innovative Social Experiences
Midcore Winner: League of Legends: Wild Rift - Battle of Twin Cities by Riot Games earned Best Social Event. Inspired by Arcane, this faction-based showdown let players rally behind either Piltover or Zaun, completing trivia, missions, and MOBA matches to dominate a live-updating battle map. Social gaming done right.
Casual Winner: Monopoly GO! - Tycoon Racers (yep, Scopely again) introduced four-player team competition in a new event where players collected points through core gameplay. It brought a competitive edge to the classic Monopoly charm, and the judges loved the teamwork mechanics.
Creative Minigames
Midcore Winner: Goddess of Victory: NIKKE x Dave the Diver: Aegis the Diver by Level Infinite earned high marks for faithfully recreating the quirky charm of Dave the Diver. With pixel art, diving missions, and sushi-restaurant chaos—now starring NIKKE characters—it was both a surprise and a hit.
Casual Winner: Metacore’s Merge Mansion - Secret Supply offered a fresh twist by adding a casino-style arcade machine to its merge gameplay. Players pulled a lever to generate items, but had to manage limited energy before the machine overheated. Risk, reward, and strategy—all in one.
Rising Stars
Midcore Newcomer: Pokémon TCG Pocket by The Pokémon Company shook up the card battler scene with a more relaxed, collection-first approach. It dominated the US and Japan charts in late 2024 and introduced a whole new generation to Pokémon cards.
Casual Newcomer: Domino Dreams by SuperPlay flew under the radar early on but exploded in popularity in 2024, earning it top newcomer honors in the casual space.
Evolving Games
Midcore Evolver: Brawl Stars by Supercell proved it’s still got game by constantly iterating—new modes, crossovers, limited-time power-ups, and a total revamp of ranked play helped the title reach global launch-level performance all over again.
Casual Evolver: Seaside Escape: Merge & Story by Microfun showed how consistent updates and trendy events can keep a casual title climbing. The game broke into the Top 40 Grossing list by keeping things fresh and fun.
