Modder Brings Multiplayer to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC

Three Spider-Men in different suits prepare for action in an industrial setting, with one villain captured in webs. Rain creates a dynamic mood.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC has received an unofficial multiplayer mode, thanks to a dedicated modder.

This addition now allows multiple players to swing through New York City together, offering fans the closest experience yet to the canceled project, Spider-Man: The Great Web.

The mod comes from creator hbgda, who released the first multiplayer beta version for PC players. According to details shared by Twitter/X user Okami13, interested fans can join the modder’s Discord server for installation instructions and community support.

This development immediately reminds fans of Spider-Man: The Great Web, a scrapped Insomniac Games project. Back in March 2024, a leaked trailer surfaced online, showcasing Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy teaming up against classic villains like Doctor Octopus, Rhino, and Venom. The footage suggested a mix of co-op action and possibly PvP gameplay, making the cancellation even more disappointing for fans.

Venom was also shown as a playable character in that trailer. Voice actor Tony Todd had even revealed that only a small fraction of his recorded lines were used in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, hinting that much of his work may have been intended for the now-shelved live-service game.

While the official Great Web project may never see the light of day, this multiplayer mod gives fans something to enjoy in its place. Early gameplay clips shared online show up to seven players web-slinging across the city together. However, the mod isn’t fully compatible with the campaign or side quests just yet, and some features remain a bit rough around the edges. Still, it’s a welcome step for fans.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered originally launched on PlayStation 5 in 2020, followed by a PC release in August 2022.
