Capcom’s fantasy epic leads the pack as Bethesda’s remaster leaps into the top three
Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds remains the best-selling game of 2025 in the United States, according to latest data released by Circana. The action-RPG, which launched in late February, has held the top spot despite strong competition, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows from Ubisoft, which continues to hold onto second place.
However, the big story for April was the explosive success of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Bethesda’s upgraded version of the 2006 classic was the best-selling title for the month and has already climbed to third place on the year-to-date chart—just weeks after launch.
According to Circana’s analyst Mat Piscatella, Oblivion Remastered not only outsold its original 2006 release’s first 15 months in unit sales but also generated more full game revenue than the original did in its first 14 months on the market. The remaster topped sales on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms in April.
Meanwhile, MLB The Show 25 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 round out the top five. One notable climber is Xbox's Forza Horizon 5, which debuted on PlayStation 5 last month and jumped from 48th to 13th on the year-to-date chart.
