A coalition of more than 50 game industry professionals has launched Palestinian Voices in Games, a network designed to support Palestinian indie developers through professional mentorship, funding connections, and volunteer expertise.

What is Palestinian Voices in Games?

The initiative first started in May 2024 and now includes studios and creators from across Europe and beyond.

Notable members include Santa Ragione (Italy, known for Saturnalia), Nerial (UK, creators of Reigns), The Pixel Hunt (France, behind Bury me, my Love), Lizardcube (Streets of Rage 4, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance), and others.

Together, they are volunteering time, skills, and resources to help Palestinian game makers bring their projects to life.

The network describes itself as “a professional coalition for supporting Palestinian game creators,” with a clear goal: to ensure Palestinian voices are not sidelined in global gaming culture.

The group writes:

“We want to push against the dehumanisation of Palestinians, not simply through representation but also through professional and economic support, so that Palestinian game developers may tell their own stories and reach global audiences.”

Which games are being supported?

According to reports by Rock Paper Shotgun, the network is already backing four projects:

  • Being 2 - A follow-up to comic artist Iasmin Omar Ota’s Being, an RPG Maker title exploring identity and survival.

  • RiYafa - Developed by Yusra, blending testimony and symbolism to tell the story of her family and community in the West Bank.

  • Pomegranates - A project by Yasmine Batniji, designed as an educational game to teach audiences about present-day Palestinian realities.

  • Dreams on a Pillow - Created by Rasheed Abu-eideh (Liyla and the Shadows of War), this pseudo-3D stealth adventure draws from a Palestinian folk tale and is set during the 1948 Nakba. The project raised nearly $250,000 through a LaunchGood campaign.

How does the network operate?

Palestinian Voices in Games is expanding its international volunteer network, meeting directly with Palestinian developers, and connecting them with potential funding partners.

The group provides both logistical and administrative support, helping secure financial resources, pairing creators with skilled mentors, and guiding projects from early production to final release.

As the organizers explained:

"We will assist supported creators in managing the financial resources they secure and in coordinating the delivery of volunteer contributions. From production to announcement to publication, we will follow the progress of each project closely, keeping all supporters informed every step of the way."

Palestinian developers, whether emerging or established, can submit projects for support via the official site.

Those outside of game development who wish to contribute can also get involved, offering financial support or volunteering their skills via the same platform.
