Palworld developer Pocketpair has announced an exciting new collaboration with the popular indie game Terraria.
The update, called "Tides of Terraria," will arrive this summer for the Early Access version of the open-world survival crafting game.
This major update will bring creatures from the Terraria universe into Palworld. Players will be able to catch, train, fight, and work with monsters from Terraria as if they were Pals. The collaboration promises to offer fresh content for fans of both games.
According to Pocketpair, the update won't be limited to just crossover content. You can also look forward to completely new Pals and islands to explore.
The developer plans to reveal more details about the update through Palworld's official social media channels over the coming weeks.
The announcement art for the update shows Palworld hunters facing what appears to be Terraria's Eye of Cthulu boss, along with a swarm of bat enemies that Terraria players will immediately recognize.

This collaboration comes at an interesting time for Pocketpair, as the developer is currently involved in a legal dispute with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over alleged patent infringement. The partnership with ReLogic, Terraria's developer, could be seen as a vote of confidence from a respected indie game studio during this challenging period.
Pocketpair recently had to remove certain features from Palworld, including ball-throwing and Pal-gliding mechanics, as a result of the ongoing court case. The developer has expressed disappointment about these changes stating, "these changes are necessary in order to prevent further disruptions to the development of Palworld."
Palworld is currently available in Early Access on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. It's also accessible through Xbox Game Pass.
