The July 2025 Pokémon Presents livestream was packed with announcements across games, shows, and even theme parks, offering fans a wide-ranging look at the franchise’s near future. From major updates on Pokémon Champions to surprise reveals like a new animated series by Aardman, here’s everything that was announced.
Pokémon Champions Gets 2026 Release Window
The spotlight moment of the show was undoubtedly Pokémon Champions, the upcoming strategy-focused battle game arriving on Nintendo Switch and mobile in 2026.
In the new gameplay trailer, The Pokémon Company showcased a stat-based training system that lets players specialize their Pokémon by distributing points into attributes like Speed and Special Attack.
Players can also hand-pick movesets, providing more tactical control than ever before. Battles will support both single and double formats, and players can either bring in Pokémon from Pokémon Home or recruit them in-game. Ranked matchmaking and private battles are also confirmed.
While the trailer showcased plenty of depth, the release date remains vague—no specific month or quarter was provided.
Pokémon Concierge Returns September 4
Netflix’s stop-motion animated series Pokémon Concierge is coming back with new episodes on September 4. The vibrant visual style and chill island setting made the first season a fan favorite, and the new trailer suggests more heartfelt stories are on the way.
Pokémon Tales by Aardman Coming in 2027
In an exciting crossover announcement, Aardman Animations—the studio behind Wallace and Gromit—is developing a new stop-motion Pokémon series titled Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu. Slated for 2027, the teaser hints at a charming, creature-perspective comedy full of the signature Aardman touch.
PokéPark Kanto Opening in 2026
The Pokémon Presents stream also gave us a first look at PokéPark Kanto, the franchise’s first permanent outdoor theme park attraction, set within Yomiuriland in Japan. Opening in 2026, the park is divided into two areas: Sedge Town, where Trainers gather, and the Pokémon Forest, where wild Pokémon interact in natural environments.
Pokémon Z-A Showcases Lumiose City
Game Freak shared a fresh look at Pokémon Z-A, the next mainline entry set in Lumiose City. Coming October 16, 2025, the trailer showed off Z-A Royale battles, city exploration, photo mode, and returning Mega Evolutions. The game is designed for the Switch 2 and will launch alongside a special hardware bundle.
