PUBG Mobile is partnering with the popular anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End in an unexpected crossover. The collaboration was officially announced on March 29 by Frieren's X (formerly Twitter) account and is set to launch tomorrow April 1 in Japan.
This partnership brings together two remarkably different worlds. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is known for its thoughtful storytelling that follows an elf mage exploring human emotions and the passage of time after defeating a Demon King. The anime's calm, reflective nature stands in stark contrast to PUBG Mobile's high-energy battle royale format, where 100 players compete on a shrinking battlefield for survival.
According to promotional materials, several beloved characters from the anime will be featured, including Frieren, Fern, Stark, and Himmel. You can see Frieren holding a Level 3 helmet of PUBG Mobile.
While the full details of the collaboration haven't been revealed yet, fans are already speculating about what this partnership might include. Based on PUBG Mobile's previous anime collaborations with series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter x Hunter, Spy x Family, Dragon Ball Super, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, players might expect character skins, special events, and possibly unique gameplay features inspired by Frieren's magical abilities.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has quickly gained popularity since its anime adaptation premiered on September 29, 2023. The first season, which consisted of 28 episodes including a two-hour premiere, concluded in March 2024. The anime is produced by Madhouse, the renowned animation studio behind hits like Death Note and One Punch Man. The second season is scheduled for January 2026.
