S8UL, a major Indian esports organization, has added South Korean StarCraft II professional player Pyung Jae Koh, known as GuMiho, to their team.
This new signing comes as S8UL prepares to compete in several game titles at the upcoming EWC 2025.
The organization is growing its presence across multiple gaming competitions including Chess, EAFC 25, Tekken 8, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Apex Legends.
By signing GuMiho, S8UL has now entered the world of real-time strategy games for the first time.
GuMiho has earned a special place in the StarCraft community thanks to his unique playing style and creative strategies.
Fans know him by his nickname "The Towel Terran" because he plays with a towel over his hands to keep them dry during intense matches.
His skill with mechanical units in the game has also earned him the title "The Mech God."
The South Korean player's career reached a high point in 2017 when he won the prestigious GSL Code S Championship, defeating competitor soO with a score of 4-2. This victory cemented his place among the top players in StarCraft history.
More recently, in December 2024, he won against Protoss player Clem in a close 3-2 match at HomeStory Cup XXVI. This victory followed another impressive win at HomeStory Cup XXV, where he defeated ShoWTimE in a nail-biting 4-3 final.
"Joining S8UL feels like stepping onto a new playing field with the same hunger to win," GuMiho said about his new team. "Their drive to break barriers in esports matches my own competitive spirit. I'm ready to give it my all and compete at the highest level again, this time with S8UL by my side."
Animesh Agarwal, known as 8Bit Thug, who co-founded and serves as CEO of S8UL, expressed excitement about bringing GuMiho on board. "GuMiho is a living legend, and we're beyond thrilled to welcome him to the S8UL family," he stated. "Our journey into StarCraft II is about paying homage to the roots of esports and competing with the best."
The CEO further emphasized that GuMiho's consistent innovation and competitive spirit align perfectly with S8UL's values. He also noted that this signing represents a proud moment for Indian esports as the organization expands globally with a renowned player.
S8UL has gained international recognition in recent years, winning the 'Esports Content Group of the Year' award three times in a row at the Esports Awards. The organization has also received the first MOBIES Global Impact Award.
