A new SpongeBob SquarePants game, titled Titans of the Tide, is reportedly set to release on November 18, 2025, across current-gen platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
While THQ Nordic hasn’t officially confirmed the title yet, the game has already appeared in several regional game classification databases, including South Korea’s GRAC and Germany’s USK. These listings were first spotted in June, but new information has now surfaced thanks to noted leaker billbil-kun, who has provided accurate early reports on game releases in the past.
According to his findings, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide will skip last-gen consoles entirely, aiming to deliver an experience tailored specifically for the latest hardware.
The game will be available in both digital and physical formats, although physical editions will be limited to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The pricing is set at $39.99 across all platforms, suggesting this could be a mid-range release rather than a full-priced AAA title.
The timing of the launch — just a week ahead of American Thanksgiving — hints at a strategic move to capture the holiday shopping crowd. Fans of the franchise who grew up watching the beloved characters may find this a nostalgic yet timely return to Bikini Bottom, especially with the newer generation of consoles now widely adopted.
Although THQ Nordic has yet to officially unveil the game, there's growing speculation that the announcement could happen during the upcoming THQ Nordic Showcase on August 1, or possibly during a rumored Nintendo Direct later this month.
If the leaks hold true, Titans of the Tide will mark SpongeBob’s next big outing since The Cosmic Shake in 2023. It’s still unclear what kind of gameplay the new title will offer — whether it leans more toward platforming, co-op, or a fresh genre entirely — but with its release date drawing closer, official details likely aren’t far off.
For now, fans will have to wait a bit longer for a trailer or more concrete gameplay details.
I will ensure to keep you informed about any announcements made.
