Stellar Blade Sequel Confirmed for Release Before 2027

Stellar Blade

Developer Shift Up has now officially confirmed that Stellar Blade 2 is in development and planned for release before 2027.

In a company presentation document dated May 16, Shift Up revealed their upcoming projects and timeline. The document shows clear plans for the Stellar Blade franchise, including a "platform expansion" (referring to the upcoming PC version launching next month on June 11, 2025) and a sequel targeted to release between now and the end of 2026.

Talk of a sequel isn’t new though. In a March 2024 Famitsu interview, even before game release, Shift Up CEO Hyung-Tae Kim hinted at plans for a follow-up, joking that revealing the protagonist Eve’s age might be saved for a sequel — but stressed that its development would depend on the original game's reception.

Following the game’s commercial success (selling over 1 million in a month), Shift Up's IPO filing in May 2024 confirmed that both a sequel and a PC port were under serious consideration.

While no gameplay details or exact release date have been revealed, the sequel’s development is expected to be informed by fan feedback, particularly in areas like gameplay, localization, and narrative cohesion. Kim has publicly acknowledged areas of improvement for Stellar Blade, specifically its storytelling, during multiple interviews.

The presentation document also reveals other projects in Shift Up's pipeline, including continued support for their other title, "Goddess of Victory: Nikke," and a new project currently labeled as "Project Witches" (Thanks Insider Gaming).

While the company has now officially placed Stellar Blade 2 on their roadmap, it should be noted that development plans can change. Delays or other unforeseen circumstances could potentially push back the release window.

For fans of protagonist Eve and the post-apocalyptic world of Stellar Blade, this confirmation provides exciting news that their adventure will continue in the near future.
