Unity Awards $600k in 2025 Humanity Grants to Developers Tackling Global Challenges

Unity has announced the 10 recipients of its 2025 Unity for Humanity Grant, awarding a total of $600,000 to developers from around the world working on projects that address pressing global issues.
The grants support creators developing experiences aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on vision, impact, inclusivity, and long-term viability.
This year’s cohort spans 9 countries and includes projects ranging from mental health platformers to coral reef builders and sign language education apps.
Jubilee Studios Wins Judges' Choice and Popular Vote
Among this year’s winners, Jubilee Studios received standout recognition for Small Talk ASL, an app designed to teach American Sign Language in engaging and accessible ways. The project not only won the popular vote but also took home the Judges’ Choice Award, marking it as a standout in both impact and execution.

Split Studio (Tekoha: A Tale Among the Stars), an Indigenous-themed narrative game
Boland Parwaz (Dil ba Dil), a project rooted in Afghan storytelling
World Ocean Observatory (World Ocean Explorer), a virtual deep-sea exploration experience
New Student Award Category Highlights Academic Talent
The 2025 program introduced a Student Award category for the first time, shining a spotlight on rising talent in immersive tech:
Rephobia, a Belfast-based startup, was recognized for its VR exposure therapy platform
EmPRISE Lab at Cornell University received honors for RCareWorld, a healthcare education simulator
Honorable Mentions Celebrate Innovation in Health and Environment
Three projects received honorable mentions from the selection committee:
Megapop’s Life Below, a coral reef-building game with an ecological message
Birmingham City University’s ReelConnect, a multiplayer game aiding stroke rehabilitation
Mr. iO Studios’ Sami, a narrative platformer focusing on mental health.
